AFTER
No dairy or red meat to be consumed for a minimum of 24 hours after treatment. These foods take longer to digest and reduce blood flow to the cupped area.
No caffeine (tea/coffee/fizzy drinks) for 24 hours. Replace with plenty of water.
No Shower/bath for 24 hours to aid healing of the superficial scratch marks and avoid infection.
No physical exercise or strenuous activities for 24 hours even if you feel a burst of energy.
The superficial scratch marks will become itchy. You must apply olive oil generously on the treatment area twice a day for approximately 2 weeks. This will prevent scarring, aid healing and keep the area moisturised.
There will be circular marks; discolouration and bruising that will fade gradually over 2 weeks. This will depend on how fast your body heals internally.
Possible side effects that can occur after Hijama include dizziness, fainting, nausea, tiredness or you may experience worsening of the pre-existing symptoms before you feel better.
