At Cupping Methods I use various cupping techniques and variations of pressure to enhance your treatment.

Cupping therapy works deep into the muscles, fascia, scar tissue and capillaries under the skins surface by up to 4 inches by stimulating the immune response.

The suction applied to the vacuum cups can range from light, medium, strong and pulsatile. The pressure is adjusted accordingly and the length of time can be increased or decreased depending on your body’s strength and endurance.

THE TYPES OF CUPPING THERAPY

WET CUPPING ALSO KNOWN AS HIJAMA

This involves a 3 step technique consisting of suction, scarification followed by suction. Procedure is done whilst fasting for a minimum of 2-3 hours prior treatment.

Using sterile surgical blades, we perform light superficial scratches on the cupped area to draw out toxins, congested energy, removing old, aged red blood cells and morbid humours. The toxins excrete onto the skins surface for direct removal.

The Incisions stimulate an inflammatory response and activate the bone marrow to form new blood cells. This procedure drains excess fluid and increases lymph clearance and flow. Improves signalling and restores balance of the neuro-endocrine system which regulates metabolism, reproduction, energy and blood pressure.

MASSAGE CUPPING

Vacuum cups are attached to the body using massage oils. The cups are then lifted and glided repeatedly over the surface of the skin.

The skimming of the cups on the skins surface expands blood vessels under your skin, stimulates circulation, breaks up adhesions, releases tight muscles and allows the toxins to be filtered out through the lymphatic system.

Cupping is beneficial and indicated for multiple disorders affecting multiple organ systems such the:

Digestive system, vital flow and metabolic, Nervous system, Gynaecological, Musculoskeletal, Respiratory & Circulatory system.

FLASH CUPPING

This method involves quick manual application and removal of the vacuum cups onto the skin.

Pressure is adjusted accordingly and the length of time can be increased or decreased.

It will increase new oxygenated blood to the area and alleviate aches and pains.

DRY CUPPING

With this method a plastic cup is placed on the skin, the air inside the cup is suctioned out manually using a pump.  The cups can be used while resting or during movement.

This causes the tissue beneath the cup to be drawn up and swell increasing blood flow to the area.  Impurities, toxins, morbid humours are drawn to the surface internally for elimination via the lymphatic system.
